Herne Hill Velodrome was founded in 1891 by amateur racer George Hillier. The first of its annual Good Friday race meetings was held in 1903. It was chosen as the venue for track racing for the 1948 London Olympic Games & with help from recent campaigns & the London 2012 Olympic legacy it is still in use today & more popular than ever.
Cylists who have used the track include Olympic gold medallists Bradley Wiggins & Laura Trott.
